Why we need Squatters, and the laws that authorize them.

This is where the Squatter steps in. In short, the law allows the Squatter to become the owner of the property by simply occupying it and paying the property taxes for a number of years to gain full ownership rights.

In short. it is an easy way for cities to keep abandoned real estate from accumulating effecting surrounding properties in the process.

But taking over real estate by individuals with no interest in becoming eventual owners of the property is another matter, and a crime.

Unfortunately, the laws of squatting have given these individuals enough cover to take possession of real estate that is not abandoned, but simply temporarily vacant. We call these individuals REK’s, Real Estate Kidnappers. We understand the need for Squatters. It’s our hope you do now as well.
